Go http://www.corel.com and download the trial, if you own a valid license, you should be able to use your serial and convert it to a full version. If the problem persist, try installing the suite in Compatibility mode:

I   tried all of your suggestions prior to posting this issue and they did not work .  Because they did work I installed the Program on my old Pent 4, 3.2 GHz, XP svc 3 and it installed with no problems.  Unfortunitely my old computer is consigned to the attac.  I tried installing this program purchased directly from Corel on my new computer using the same compatibility settings XP svc 3 on my new computer and it still does not work.  My new computer is:

My system is as follows Windows 7 Home Premium, Processer:  Intel Core i7 CPU   *** Email address is removed for privacy ***, Ram: 12.GB, 64 bit Op Sys:

I also have tried a hundred or more times with different suggested solutions to no avail.  Corel has a serious problem with this and offers little support.

Hello miles1940,

CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X5 does show on the Corel website to be compatible with Windows 7.
If you go to the Setup.exe for CorelDraw X5, right click on the .exe file and select, "Run as Administrator" does this help?

First, disable any antivirus software and disconnect your network cable so you are not connected to the Internet.
Reboot your computer and then try again to install.
If not successful, then try and download the setup.exe file to your desktop.
Delete all of the files found in the Temp folder. You can get there by typing %temp% from the Start search box.
Reboot, then run as administrator and try the install again.

Marilyn first I thank you for attempting to help.  I have previously tried all of your suggestions you gave me.  But in an effort to resolve this problem I tried all of them again to no avail.

I even went to msconfig and disabled every program, closed Norton to no avail.  Downloaded the demo program from corel and it did not install, gave the message program closing due to fatel error, Corel Graphics is already installed.

Programs and Features  (Shows --- Corel Graphic - Windows Shell Extension), How do I remove this shell, it will not remove by clicking remove.  I do not know much about shells, perhaps this is my problem.

Sorry for the delay in responding to your post.
You might try a 3rd party software removal tool by doing a search on the internet. Once you have removed CorelDraw X5, then reboot. Next, try again and install Corel using the steps from the above post.

If that doesn't help, then I suggest you post in the Corel discussion forum to see if anyone has encountered this issue.
